Deciphering the secrets of past and modern environments

We are involved in research which looks at changing past and modern environments, primarily in and around southern Africa through the faunal analyses, stratigraphy and elemental and isotopic geochemistry of sedimentary units, geology, physical geography and microfossils of the areas we investigate. Scroll down to see the research that we do, how we educate students and the public about changing environments as well as any opportunities within the projects available to students and the public.

Students who graduated from this research group and who are also currently studying have found employment in both the environmental and geological (mining and petroleum) industries. Some students have also successfully published their work.
